FOR RECENTERING DISTORTED CENTERS IN MACHINE SPINDLES,
ARBORS, CENTER-CONTROLLED CHECKING DEVICES & FOR
OTHER SALVAGE WORK. IT MINIMIZES STOCK REMOVAL &
GREATLY IMPROVES WORK QUALITY & ACCURACY.
60 DEGREE CENTERS UP TO 2" DIAMETER CAN BE GROUND
IN WORKPARTS UP TO 6" DIAMETER AND 2" TO 42" LONG.
OPERATION OF THE BRYANT IS UNIQUE. INSTEAD OF UTILIZING
PLUNGE GRINDING, WITH ITS INHERENT FAULTS, IT
"GENERATES" TO PRODUCE FINE FINISHES & PRECISION
TOLERANCES SIMILAR TO THOSE OBTAINED ON AN INTERNAL
GRINDER.
HI-PRECISION 3-WAY GRINDING TO THE CONE-SHAPED GRINDING
WHEELS USED. THESE MOTIONS ARE (1) ROTARY MOTION OF THE
GRINDING CONE ABOUT ITS SPINDLE AXIS. (2) PLANETARY
MOTION OF THE GRINDING CONE ABOUT THE WORK AXIS.
(3) RECIPROCATING MOTION OF THE GRINDING CONE ALONG A
LINE 30 DEGREES FROM THE VERTICAL. THE GRINDING CONE
MAKES A LINE CONTACT WITH THE CENTER HOLE SURFACE,
WHICH SIMULTANEOUSLY RECIPROCATING ALONG THIS LINE.
THE UNEVEN WHEEL WEAR, OCCURRING WITH REGULAR PLUNGE
GRINDING DUE TO FULL-WHEEL CONTACT, IS ELIMINATED.
